Asus K50IJ is a popular budget laptop model, focused on home use. Despite the low price, the device has a nice design and excellent build quality and materials.
Design and external interfaces

The laptop is available in black or dark brown body: both options look decent.

The Asus K50IJ has a glossy plastic cover. Under the layer of lacquer you can see the original drawing, which not only gives the device a more stylish look, but also allows you to hide fingerprints. The cover has smooth bevels on the sides and a large chrome Asus logo in the center.
The top and bottom halves of the case are connected by external hinges. Thanks to the clever design they easily hold the lid in any convenient position and allow it to open at quite an impressive angle.

The external interfaces of the device are represented by a pretty decent set of various connectors. On the right side there are audio jacks for headphones, microphone, two USB ports, VGA video jack, LAN jack and Asus K50IJ power jack. On the left side of the notebook you can see two more USB ports and an optical drive tray.

Like any modern laptop, Asus K50IJ comes in several basic configurations. At the heart of the device are budget dual-core processors Intel Celeron Dual Core T3000, Pentium Dual Core T4300 and Pentium Dual Core T4500. Complement the configuration of the laptop from 2 to 4 gigabytes of RAM DDR2-667 and a hard drive of 250 or 320 gigabytes.

The performance of the laptop is at a decent level. Not a bad processor and enough RAM to easily run most of the usual applications, including even resource-intensive programs and videos in high definition.

The Asus K50IJ has a six-cell battery with a nominal capacity of 48Wh. The battery has a good battery life: in reading mode it lasts for 4 hours of continuous work, while watching video or surfing the web for 2 hours, and at maximum load it lasts for an hour and a half.

The Asus K50IJ’s display is 15.6 inches and has a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels. At the heart of the screen is a simple TN-matrix with LED backlighting and glossy finish.

The laptop screen is one of the best in the budget category:

• Not a bad pixel density;
• Good brightness;
• Wide horizontal viewing angles allow you to fully enjoy the quality of the image.
