Asus PRIME Z270-A drivers

ASUS in 2017 decided to abandon the “Z270-Pro” and “Z270-Deluxe” motherboards, as a result on the new Intel chipset Z270 Prime Z270-A became the flagship model. Compared to its direct predecessor, the Prime Z270-A features improvements like a new Realtek ALC1220 audio controller, two M.2 M-Key slots instead of one and faster ASM2142 USB 3.1 Gen2 controller (16Gbps instead of 10Gbps).

The Prime Z270-A from ASUS offers a functional and well equipped LGA1151 ATX model. The motherboard contains four DDR4 DIMM slots that allow for up to 64GB of memory. As for expansion slots, ASUS has completely abandoned the old PCI standard, opting for the modern PCIe 3.0 standard with three mechanical PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and four PCIe 3.0 x1 slots. The top two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots are equipped with a Safe Slot feature. In addition to the aforementioned two M.2 M-Key slots, six SATA 6Gb/s ports are available for drive connections.

The Prime Z270-A has a large number of USB ports available. You get a total of six USB 3.1 Gen1 and six USB 2.0 ports as well as two high-speed USB 3.1 Gen2 ports. In the latter case, one Type A and one Type C port each are available. If required, the LGA1151 processor’s iGPU can be brought out via DVI-D, HDMI1.4b and DisplayPort 1.2 video outputs. As for network connectivity, ASUS still relies on the Intel I219-V controller. The ASUS motherboard also has comfort features: power and MemOK! buttons and an XMP toggle switch.

The motherboard has two 4-pin CPU FAN sockets and two 4-pin Chassis FAN sockets, as well as a socket for the water-sink pump and H-AMP for powerful fans. If the standard features are not enough for you, you can connect an extension board via the Extended FAN slot, but it is not included in the Prime Z270-A package. The audio area is separated by a transparent artificial track, to which ASUS has added some RGB LEDs. The familiar all UEFI interface provides a good efficiency of the motherboard.

1. The first thing to do is to download the right driver. In the table below, select your operating system and click on the “Download” link
2. After the download is complete, you must run the downloaded file. In most cases you should double-click on the installation file to do this.
3. Further actions should be carried out by following the installation guide
4. At the end of the installation, press the “Finish” button and connect the printer to your computer.
