The new product is made on a black ATX format PCB (305 x 244 mm). It is perfectly matched with a lot of silver and white elements in the form of the cover over the interface panel and radiators. Of the interesting things to note is the presence of a M.2 storage cooler, as well as a reinforced design of the video card slots. A traditional feature of ASUS boards is the adjustable backlight ASUS AURA Sync. And ASUS PRIME X470-PRO is not an exception. Not only chipset radiator is illuminated, but also the cover over the interface panel. Also there are a couple of strips for LED strips. The layout of the kits is done at the highest level, so there are no complaints about the convenience of the system assembly, despite the rather large number of kit parts. The corner SATA slots and DIMM-slots with snaps on one side were especially nice. Looking at the back side of ASUS PRIME X470-PRO there are standard CPU socket backplate and screws that hold the radiators of cooling system. In the bottom side of the device there are the following elements: front panel audio jack connection strip, TPM and COM ports, temperature sensor connection strip, CMOS reset jumper, and front panel connection strip.
There are also three USB ports activation pads: two for USB 2.0 and one for USB 3.1 Gen 1. Totally there is support for four internal USB 2.0 ports and eight USB 3.1 Gen 1: two internal and six on the interface. The ASUS PRIME X470-PRO motherboard has four DIMM-slots for DDR4 memory modules that are run in dual channel mode. It can be implemented either into the first and third or second and fourth slots (or take all available slots). Modules are supported up to 3600 MHz (AMD Ryzen 2nd Generation), up to 3200 MHz (AMD Ryzen APU and AMD Ryzen 1st Generation CPU) or up to 2400 MHz (AMD A / AMD Athlon). Maximum memory capacity can be up to 64 GB, which will be enough for any given task.
